About TAKMIL

From a Village in Mardan to a National Movement

TAKMIL (Teach a Kid Make Individual Life) is a registered nonprofit in Pakistan, USA, and Canada. Since January 15, 2017, TAKMIL has been on a mission to bring education to out-of-school children (OOSC) in the remotest parts of Pakistan; where no school, no electricity, and no internet have ever existed.

We believe every child, regardless of their location, deserves a chance to learn. That belief began with a 3-month pilot project in Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 50 children aged 5–15 were introduced to a blended, tech-enabled learning model. The results confirmed our hypothesis: multi-age children can learn together, and when empowered with digital tools, they learn faster.

The Challenge We Stepped Into

The Model We Built to Solve It

There are 26.2 million out-of-school children that traditional government programs and donor-supported schools can’t keep up with the scale of the problem, especially in rural areas.

Our model is cost-efficient ($100/year per child), community-owned, and built for rapid scale across underserved districts.

Most OOSC are between ages 5–16, and have missed years of learning, too old for Grade 1, too unready for higher levels.

TAKMIL uses an accelerated, multi-age curriculum, Primary in 12 months, Elementary in 18 months, so children catch up quickly.

Traditional education efforts often require building schools, which is slow, expensive, and sometimes impossible in rural terrain.

TAKMIL has a “no brick-and-mortar” policy, investing instead in learning tools, facilitators, and community ownership.

Many villages have no electricity, internet, or buildings for formal schools to function.

Our solar-powered School-in-a-Box runs offline with video lessons, projectors, and local servers, no grid or internet needed.

Remote rural communities are left out of tech-based education programs that assume internet access or smartphones.

TAKMIL’s solution is tech-enabled but offline, designed precisely for places that are disconnected from digital infrastructure.

Girls in rural Pakistan have never seen a classroom due to cultural, distance, and safety barriers.

TAKMIL creates safe, community-led classrooms close to home, so girls can learn with family and community support.

TAKMIL Education Programs
